Crucial to the education and improvement of our residents is feedback and evaluation. Our program has numerous modalities that serve
to improve our residents skills in all the core competencies
– Professionalism; Medical Knowledge; Patient Care; Interpersonal and Communication Skills; Systems Based Practice; Practice Based
Learning.
1. Semi-Annual Faculty Evaluations
2. Direct Observation of Patient Care by Faculty with immediate point of care feedback
3. Direct Observation of Patient Care by Behavioral Faculty with immediate point of care feedback
4. Rotation evaluations
5. Procedure Competency Checklists
6. 360 Evaluations: Self evaluations; Peer evaluations; Staff evaluations
7. Evaluation of Resident Presentation Skills for Journal clubs and Resident Presentations
8. Evaluation of Communication skills and Patient Counseling – done by medical and behavioral faculty
9. Annual In training Examination
10. Evaluation of using Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) / Literature search – to help residents learn and improve in finding the best EBM
sources to optimize patient care.
